Val Ferret – 1.467 m

The refuge is located in the municipality of Courmayeur, in the Chapy d’Entrèves area, at an altitude of 1,467 meters above sea level, at the entrance of the Val Ferret.

From Courmayeur

Take the bus from Piazzale Monte Bianco (green line: Val Ferret–Planpincieux–Verrand) and get off at the ‘La Palud Dente del Gigante’ stop.  Continue uphill along the road until you reach the barriers controlling vehicle access to Val Ferret. Go through the barriers and, after about 50 metres, you will find the start of the path on your left, signposted “Rifugio Chapy”, which will take you to the refuge in about 15 minutes.

From Col Ferret

If you’re arriving by bus, get off at the ‘Meyen’ stop; then follow the road downhill for about 1 km and you’ll find the start of the footpath on your right, signposted ‘Rifugio Chapy’, which will take you to the refuge in about 15 minutes.
